Hispaniola is the name Christopher Columbus chose to call the Island once called Ayti/Hayti or Quisqueya when he arrived in the New World in 1492. This story is one of the most incredible to me; From Christopher Columbus, to Caonabo or Guarionex, Anacaona or even The Island herself. Any side of this story is incredible, the only problem is that: the Tainos weren't as advanced as the Europeans, so they couldn't leave as much information for their children as their invaders could.
I would describe this Island as "The Golden Island" for Christopher, because from that day, with that discovery, his life has changed for ever.
